A SPIRITUAL C * NSP * R* CY

We think this is so harmonically tuned to the spirit of Tribe and all of the mankind who are working towards a more peaceful, abundant, natural and consciously emerging planet. We trust you will feel the sentiment of it and pass it on...

with love and blessings

in the spirit of cooperation, family and global community

Sunny and Pierre Soleil

A SPIRITUAL C * NSP * R* CY

On the surface of the world right now there is
war and violence and things seem dark.
But calmly and quietly, at the same time,

something else is happening deep down.

An inner emergence is taking place

and certain individuals are being called to a higher light.
It is a silent awakening.
From the inside out. From the ground up.

This is a Global operation.
A Spiritual C * nsp * r * cy.
There are 'sleepers' awakening in every nation on the planet.

You won’t see us on the T.V .
You won’t read about us in the newspaper
You won’t hear about us on the radio

We don’t seek any glory
We don’t wear any uniform
We come in all shapes and sizes, colors and styles

Some of us work anonymously
We are quietly working behind the scenes

in every country and culture of the world;
in cities big and small, mountains and valleys;

in farms and villages, tribes and remote islands.

You could pass by one of us on the street
and not even notice

We go undercover
We insinuate into the system

from behind the scenes
It is of no concern to us who takes the final credit
But simply that the work gets done

During the day some of us pretend we have normal jobs
But behind the false storefront and at any hour
is where the real work takes a place

Some might call us the Conscious Warriors
Rainbow Warriors of Light, Spiritual Activists,
Lightworkers, Shamans, Helians [healing beings]

However we know ourselves as,
we are slowly creating a new world

with the power of our minds and hearts
We follow, with passion and joy

Our orders come from from the Central Spiritual Intelligence or The Celestial Concourse Administration...
Whether it's the CSI or the CSA or our own deepest access to global consciousness
We are all dropping soft, secret love b *m b s when no one is looking

Poems * Hugs * Music * Photography * Movies * Gifting * Kind words * Smiles * Inspiration * Meditation & prayer * Compassion * Workshops * Community Gatherings * Dance * Social alternatives * Websites * Blogs * Random acts of kindness and outgoing concern for the whole before self

We each express ourselves in our own unique ways
with our own unique gifts and talents

Be the change you want to see in the world
That is the motto that fills our hearts.

We know it is the only way real transformation takes place
We know that quietly and humbly we have the
power of all the oceans combined.

Our work is slow and meticulous
Like the formation of mountains
It is not even visible at first glance
And yet with it entire tectonic plates
shall be moved ....

Love is the new religion of the 21st century
You don’t have to be a highly educated person
Or have any exceptional knowledge to understand it

It comes from the intelligence of the heart
Embedded in the timeless evolutionary pulse of all human beings..

Be the change you want to see in the world
Nobody else can do it for you

We are now recruiting
Perhaps you will join us
Or already have.

All are welcome
The door is open

LA Beach Burn this Sunday 12/14

Los Angeles is now suffering through what has got to be coldest Winter we've seen in at least 10 months. A nice roaring beach fire is exactly what's needed to put some warmth and light back in to our dreary lives, and that's just what is happening this Sunday at Dockweiler State Beach.

The evening will feature a piece of flammable art called "The Twelve Non-Denominational Burning Men of Christmas" which will be set ablaze shortly after nightfall. The piece is also a prototype of a larger installation currently in the planning stages for the next Black Rock Arts Festival. The Sun sets at 5 pm these days, so get there early if you'd like to get sneak peek of bigger things to come. Bring yourself and friends, firewood, something to sit on, drums and/or whatever else you usually bring to a beach burn. Stonehaven fireballs will be provided for our further entertainment.

The Burn is happening at the Northernmost set of Fire rings, which is near the second parking lot at Dockweiler. The Beach Entrance is located at the end of Imperial Hwy West at the intersection with PCH. Parking cost $5. The lot closes at 10pm and street parking ends at 10 pm as well. Dogs and Alcoholic Beverages are not allowed on the beach.

The Red Line Pub Crawl - Friday 28 Nov

In their infinite wisdom, the Los Angeles MTA has decided to keep the Red Line running until 3am on the weekends until the end of the year. We, the Party People of Los Angeles, will celebrate this sage decision while showing our support for public transportation AND supporting the local economy on the day after Thanksgiving. Because we all know the best way to give thanks is by getting plowed.

Here’s the deal:

We will meet at the Traxx bar at Union Station at 8pm (near the front entrance), to swill cocktails and stare upward in amazement at the beautiful Art Deco ceilings. Around 9pm we shall get ourselves hence to the Metro. Reecy recommends buying a day pass for $5 beforehand. A flask is recommended for subtle on-board consumption.

The full details of stop number two will be posted soon.

Our evening will conclude (or just really get started) on the Cahuenga strip, that bastion of shitty, shitty parking, and home to such fabulous bars as rock’n’roll favorites Tiny’s KO and the Burgundy Room, the electro stylings of the Beauty Bar and the perpetual Dia de los Muertos that is the Velvet Margarita.

When we’ve all been thrown out of Hollywood’s finest watering holes at 2am, we shall bask in the joy that is Not Driving One’s Drunk Ass Home as we return to the Hollywood and Vine metro stop. Bonus points for walking to a diner near your stop for some late-night chow.

Most recent intelligence on So-Cal Decompression...

Our surveillance has recovered the following information from
this grouped called Burners planning their first trip to Mars:

This mission, called the So-Cal Decompression will commence
on October 17th (Friday) and end on October 19th (Sunday).
The burners call it So-Cal Decom because it represents many
parts of Southern CA, including Orange County and the Inland
Empire (Riverside/San Bernardino) areas. It is a weekend,
camping event that follows the two other day street festivals:

LA Decom-- October 4th
SF Decom-- October 11th
So-Cal Decom-- October 17-19

The location is considered top secret, but we have discovered
it is secured, and it is located on the east side of the Salton Sea.
This is about 2.5 to 3 hours from San Diego.
More details will be given as the event gets closer.

The lowest tier of tickets is sold out (200 tickets) so the next tier
is for sale now, with a ticket cost of $40 each. These will be for sale
until 150 tickets are sold, then the price raises to $60 each.

If you are attending this event, get ready to be transported!

It will be out of this world!!

Burners Mission to Mars.

Data received in recent months from the Red Planet indicate that life
could survive on Mars. A group known as Burners have volunteered
to make the first large scale mission. Authorities were apprehensive
at first to let non-government agencies make this trip, but after careful
analysis of the Burner community it was made clear that this group of
people is extremely resourceful and capable of dealing with the unknown.

Burners are going to dispense with the glossy space program as we know it.
Mark your calendars for the 18th of October when the Burners will group
at a Top Secret Location to begin this project.

First tier Decom 08 tickets will go on sale in the next few weeks.
We will post the exact time and date soon. So get your space suit
out of closet and start practicing your space walk!

Hello villans....

'm planning on doing different things on the playa this year. And you as Villans are expected to participate in none or all.

1. The bacon pie Contest:
i'd say thuesday or wednesday sometime... to be annouced on a sign in Gigsville. bring all your own ingrediants and show us your version of a bacon pie ( best served with beer) Prepare your own pie at the car-b-que or judge other peoples pie's. There are no restriction on ingrediants. If you don't cook, or don't eat please dress up as a pig! Wonderful prizes and honour await participants.

2. Daily (or not) mani- /pedicure for Cowboys:
Yes I'm providing a service, but only when I feel so... look for the sign or bribe me.

3. Ducttape Gun Halter Workshop. Some highnoon. To be annouced on a sign. Bringing your own ducttape & some Deco might help. Possibility to make corsetts, belts and cups & straws and many other things from Ducttape aswell. Bring your own booze...and some for me too :-)

4. Missfortune telling: Want to know the horrible black future? that's your chance to know who will shoot you down in the next gunfight. Free missfortues brought to you whenever I feel like it or you bribe me...or I like you, what is very unlikely.

See you there!

My Playa Home Beckons... I Pray for a Miracle

Humble greetings my Playa Family

The stars have finally aligned and with just four years to go before we stand at the at the cusp of the Dreamspell prophecy I find myself with the need – the hunger - to once again go home back to the playa.

Burningman calls me.

As Babylon burns my final ascension on the playa awaits. Though for now it is in jeopardy of being postponed due to a shortage of green energy in the form of legal tender. As I write this in full awake meditation consciousness, I am comforted in the All Knowledge that this blessed, enlightened, loving come-unity will provide me with that which I seek.

A miracle ticket.

But to ask for a miracle without intent to repay with a kindness of some sort casts a pall – a gloom – on the miraculous gift I know awaits me. So that I might accept such selfless love from one or more of you readers I ask that in return for a ticket I be allowed to repay The Giver with my own expression of gratitude and Goddess Grace and Dakini energy.

I have experience in and am willing to perform many of the mundane but necessary tasks that our current living situation on this Earth plane requires. For instance, I am willing to house sit for you up to six weeks if you so need. I can probably extend such a situation should you be fortunate enough to live either in Marin, Tiburon or Mill Valley as both my small but budding yoga practice and aural analysis practice are currently located in Marin.

I am also available to perform chakra cleansing rituals as well as discreet purifying colonic irrigation to augment vegan dietary practices. I am versed and certified in the Bhutanese tantric art of Tae Eet Boo Tay and will provide a rudimentary overview of the arts (sorry this particular gift offering is only available to my playa sisters as male energy tends to introduce cosmic fluctuations into the ritual)
I perform past life regression workshops for both pets and their owners. These workshops are designed to both reveal and cleanse away not only the past trauma of various, unpleasant childhood incidents but also seeks to address the more subtle trauma of owner (‘master’) and pet (’slave’) dynamics from a non-Maoist, non-Marxist perspective.

Further, I have extensive experience in coaching people living in small group settings such as intentional households in San Francisco on how to facilitate conflict resolution especially as it applies to groups in live/work space dynamics. I specialize in artists living in challenging often cramped live/work settings and can show how such groups can effectively manifest loving, non-violent change in their situation using healing, holographic imagery to guide them through to a point of final resolution by tapping into the pure Goddess energy which cradles all of us.

So my plan is to ‘hold place’ while the Universal One manifests for me that which I seek so strongly. The Ecstatic Dancer races in my mind as I imagine the goodness of my playa family praying that my needs become met for I know that there is at least One brother or sister reading these humble words who will do what is right and what is needed by a fellow traveling Sister seeking a means to return home to Black Rock City.

For those dark and skeptical haters out there who would challenge this particular means of getting my needs met know that my shamanic practices allow me to dismiss your criticisms complete in the knowledge that until you can understand, invoke and incorporate the Higher Purpose Lessons which I and my Playa Family have been able to successfully integrate into our lives that your words will have no strength and no power.

Jah Bless my playa family. I know that my prayers will become manifest and, when the Universe answers those prayers I look forward to meeting many of you at our city in the desert. In fact, should the stars aligned I hope that I might break bread with some of you and perhaps share in your village. Again, I offer my wisdom, experience and Light Presence in cosmic exchange for shelter and bedding and good drink should any of you kind brothers and/or sisters be interested. I look forward to hearing from you and offer sweet blessings to each and all reading this invocation.

Universal Love to You All

Gigsville Reunion Postponed

Many months ago, I told everyone I was going to organize a Gigsville 10 year reunion (yes I know we're going on 11 but 98-2008 sounded better to me.). I said it would be the weekend of July 4th. The cat was too big for me to herd, and I couldn't find a location that could do what I wanted at the cost I wanted it. So no official 10 year reunion but I do hope to see those of you on the playa who I can.

I am working on a plan to make sure the important stuff isn't lost, but it will be a while til you get the details of that. So I just wanted to say that I thank all of you for the life a girl could have.

This passage in the Da Vinci Code (which I'm finally reading) made me smile:

In fact, so strong was the Church's fear of those who lived in the rural villes that the once innocuous word for "villager" - villain - came to mean a wicked soul.

It takes a village, and we continue. 11 years on the playa, and more importantly, in each other's lives. Shocking.

Yours in Fire,
XTC

It occurred to me that there might be Villains here who I have not touched... Inappropriately or otherwise.

So here I am. Touching you like a common creep.

How are things?? How are the kids? How's Burning Man plans? Seen any cool explosions recently?

This year will be the best EVER. If you're not also on the Gigsville lists, you may want to get on them... lots of stuff going on, people building, plans hatching, stuff like that...

From the site:
Things are moving along nicely, and we’re looking at a great year on and off the playa!

Because the awesomeness rocks all year long, we no longer just gather for Burning Man. We have meetings and events year 'round. Join our zombie league online to find out more! We only bite when we're scouting for brains.

"Gigsville? That's, like, a lot of lists, isn't it?" YES! We have more lists than any other community, EVER!

Recently, we migrated most of our lists away from Topica. If you've been a member of Gigsville in the past, you know why we migrated! If you're new to Gigsville, this handy page will help you navigate the most active lists.

All of our new group subscriptions allow you to get mailing list mail through your normal mail program, or read it on the web. You can also use their interface to remove yourself from the list, or to switch to and from 'digest' mode (all messages from the day are gathered up and sent to you as one big message at the end of the day). When you subscribe to digest, it's REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TRIM YOUR POSTS WHEN YOU REPLY. Otherwise, people are going to roll their eyes at every single one of your responses. It's a total drag and results in almost a complete loss of credibility. Just ask MattShaw.

The lists are:

Gigsville: The Reckoning
Subscription: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gigsville/join
This is the main discussion list of things about/for/involving the Gigsville community and/or its members such as event planning, project planning, and year round community stuff. Before subscribing, please read the Welcome Letter:
http://gigsville.org/index.php?section=10

The Projects List
Subscription: http://groups.google.com/group/gig-project
Open discussion focusing on creative construction, fabrication, ascii diagrams, knowledge sharing, techniques, materials and ideas for Gigsville and it's creation at Burning Man.

Gig-Announcements: for those with shorter attention spans
Subscription: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gig-Announcements/join
Oftentimes, our Gigsville lists are too chatty or cover too much of the chaff of the wheat. If you want to know only about the highest level things, join the announce list. However! Be aware that many people have forgotten that the Announce list exists. If you find that nothing seems to be happening, it’s probably because we’ve forgotten to post it.

Gig-Hardcore: Oh My God, These People Talk A LOT
Subscription: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gig-Hard/join
Then, on the other hand, you may want to know everything from funny forwards to political links to philosophical polls on whether Foghat really was better that Cheap Trick.

Event-related Lists
Please do not join only these lists and expect to feel welcomed as part of the community. To be a member of the community, you should also come out to workshops, camping trips, dinners, etc. Just showing up for the event isn’t enough.

Gig-Burningman: That Thing in the Desert Strikes Again
Subscription: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gig-Burningman/join
Every year, we go out to this thing. I doubt that will change any time soon.

Gig-Flipside: It’s Better with Butter
Subscription: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gig-Flipside/join
We also go out to Flipside, since a lot of Villains live in Austin.

Before you full-on join up with us, you'll want to read our code of conduct. It's full of important rules you MUST be aware of before joining up with Gigsville. It's constantly being updated, so check back and re-read often. Wouldn't it be awful to inadvertently break one of the rules and be hated forever?
COC: http://gigsville.org/index.php?section=66

There is NO OPEN REGISTRATION THIS YEAR. NO ONE IS CAMPING *WITH* GIGSVILLE. Either you ARE Gigsville, or you're not camping on our plot.

More info? http://www.gigsville.org

Obediently yours,

Gigsville Temple Challenge

Hello Gigsvillian organizers.

The Rue Morgue and Temple of Community would like to offer you a challenge of a different ilk.

When we found out that Best wasn't doing a temple this year we started to embark on creating one for the community that each camp could be part of.

We are building a 20 - 30 foot origami crane from wood to burn. It will a place of mourning, deep thought and release. To say goodbye to loved ones that have left this world.

We are asking various camps to build their own 5 foot version that can be placed next to the main structure in a circle to show that no mater how different we are together we are a community.

We will be happy to send you scaled down drawings but in the end its your art piece and we'd like you to make it yours. Use the skeleton as a base.

If you are interested in this challenge please contact me.

THIS OFFER IS OPEN TO UNREGISTERED AS WELL AS REGISTERED THEME CAMPS.

FOR Temple of Community INFO or to JOIN us go to: http://tribes.tribe.net/templeofcommunity

Thank you for your continued support.

If you don't read the main list that often, I thought you should know:

Since we are planning on having half the space we usually do, this
year you must be an Active participant to camp in the village.
ZONE TRIP TO THE FRINGE: SALTON SEA, February 15th -18th

When? - President's Day Weekend, February 15th -18th,
What? - Carpool out to Salton Sea to camp, and ride our bicycles.
Where? - Slab City and Salvation Mountain are in the mix.

Sometimes tradition is the fuel that drives the wheels of creation.
After all, the original can only come into being if it has never
existed before, and how do you know it never existed before if you
aren't willing to immerse yourself in the things that belong to the
days of yore?

The Cacophony Society has long understood this and been willing to mix
tradition with the future. There's no better place for this that on
the perennial favorite--Zone Trip to Salvation Mountain and Slab City.

Bring along your bicycles, old paint and other accoutrements for a
three-day weekend that'll make Moses' visit to Mount Sinai look
like...well, it'll still look more important than this, but the Zone
Trip will be way more fun than having God bitch at you for coveting
your neighbor's wife.

Gigsville's Ten Year Reunion! (July 4th, 2008)

This seems as good a time as any to declare that I've declared that you
must reserve the weekend of July 4th, 2008 for the Gigsville Ten Year
Reunion. (I do know that technically it is 11 years, but I think
1998-2008 sounds better.)

What I know it will be: A multi day experience ala Twigsville, but I am
going to try to get as many people who feel like Gigsville has touched
them in some way (eeewww) to join us.

What I don't know yet: Where it will be or what it will look like. I
have a few ideas. You have a few ideas.

Things I would like to see happen: yearbook, maybe some sort of booth
where we can tell and record our stories. I don't know how much time I
have to devote to these ideas so if you think you'd like to head this
up, please contact me.

If you would like to help with these or general organizationalness,
please email me offlist at xtc (at) gigsville.org

Yours in Fire,
SindiGig Secretary

New to BM, New to Gigsville and needing some guidance

Hello everyone!

As the event date approaches I am getting more and more concerned with my lack of info about my place in the camp. I'm currently getting the Gig-BM emailers (at least some of them? I don't know how many lists there are). I look here and I look on the Gigsville.org webpage and I see very few posts, very few updates, and I'm being left with nothing but questions!

I have a strong desire to meet-up with some fellow LA locals to camp in a sub-camp...

Also, how does registration work. I pay,and then what? Is there a check-in? Do I get a wrist band for priviledges.. I can't find this info anywhere... man I'm feeling dumb!

Perhaps someone could direct me to all the forums or email groups I should sign on to. I really feel like I'm out of the loop!

starting to pick up radiation FAR above acceptable levels. And have
you seen the price of gas lately?

The End is surely near...

*****************

Please do not "Bring Your Own" alcohol to donate to the bars. The
your generous donations to the BFT bar when we all get *out in the
desert*. Thank you.

Please do bring your ID. 21+ only, with ID. Thanks!

Don't forget that the door-fee is a *suggested* donation. Nobody
turned away for lack-of-funds.

----------------

This party is going to rock. See you tomorrow, when the world ends.

Sober Beach Burn This Saturday @ Dockweiler

Sober Beach Burn This Saturday (7:00 pm – 10:30-ish)

Come out to support the first of many Sober Beach Burns this Saturday 4-14-07. DJ Troi Ge will be gifting this gathering with his amazing beats and funky soul rhythms. The location is Dockweiler State Beach. We are trying to get the northernmost pit. Note: There are two large parking lots that you can turn left into. Go to the north parking lot (or the parking lot furthest away from the entrance gate)

If you are interested in attending other Sober events please sign up to Sober Soul-lutions.

http://tribes.tribe.net/s-3

Parking inside the park is $5.00, the blinky-car comes around at about 10:30 and then it takes a little while longer before citations are issued. Or, you can opt to park on Vista Del Mar for free, in which case you will have to leave PROMPTLY at 10pm otherwise, there is a pretty good chance you will get a ticket.

Also, we could use help with firewood. There always seems to be enough due to the generosity of those who attend.

This is going to be a sober event. That means we would really appreciate it if you don’t bring drugs or alcohol. Also, please respect the event by not coming in high, drunk or stoned. Can’t wait to see you all there. Love and Light. --SBP

Directions

From Downtown
Freeway becomes Imperial Ave. go 1.9 miles
Stay in middle lane as you approach Vista Del Mar, you can enter the park and pay $5 or turn right on Vista Del Mar and find street parking.

So I am going on a road trip that will take me through LA next Monday eve (April 9th). I was wondering of there is a place me and Ginger the Wonderdog could crash for a night? We both come with excellent references, and we are both housebroken. One night only, on my way to New Mexico.
Email me offlist, please: el_aroussah@yahoo.com

Artist space for rent in Gadget's warehouse

Hi guys, we are losing a fabulous tenant due to her business closing.

Which means as of the 15th of October we have the (newly repainted and refurbished) loft/ live/work space in Gadget's studio (next door to Kerver's old space on the West side of the building) for rent.

It's going for $1600.00 bucks, utilities included: two story, loft live/work upper and lower. Was most recently used as a jewelery manufacturing showroom space. Painter and hat maker work next door. Cat ok.

We'd love to find another creative/artistic businessperson to place in the space, either day use or live/work.

If anyone knows of anyone looking - it's one of the last artist lofts in Culver City area at this rate, please have them contact Gadget at 310-908-0604.

Thanks!
Kinchasa

DARK SKIES - THE SINGULARITY EVENT Press release for March 6, 2007

Hello Dark Skies –Singularity community. Got a few minutes?

Here is the latest news in regards to our permits and the BLM. Feel free to forward this public press release wherever you’d like.

THE NUMBERS.
DS/Sing is going to cost between $25 and $29K to produce. The initial draft of the accounting (pre event) is posted here http://darkskies.vegasartists.com/about/accounting.php it’s still pretty rough and is lacking a bunch of stuff, but you’ll see the nexus of what this takes. We post this in advance of the event because we want YOU the community to buy into this thing and see what it takes to produce it, and realize that nobody is getting rich here. And we want you to buy tickets too. How’s that for blatant honesty? It’s an extremely risky venture at best producing these events. Our ONLY source of income comes from YOU buying tickets to the event.
Anyway…..
BLM Law Enforcement (LE) is asking for $34,600 in LE fees for the May event.
Event budget - <>$27K, LE fees - $34k. See a problem here?

After being approved for the upcoming May event this past December, we have received a ‘Cost Recovery Estimate’ in February from BLM that is far in excess of the entire event’s gross budget.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO NOW.
We are prepared to file an appeal with the BLM in Sacramento and Washington to contest these fees, and concurrently file an application for a ‘stay’ to keep our permitting process moving forward during the appeal process, which could take up to two years. We intend to show that BLM is in error in its cost estimate for our little event, and further, that bias, prejudice, and unfair treatment has occurred numerous times at our events. Those of you who’ve receive citations know what we’re talking about here. They simply ‘don’t’ like us’ but that has no bearing on the facts unfortunately.

We have a meeting scheduled with BLM for this Thursday here in the Las Vegas office to begin this process and attempt to talk some sense into these guys. I/E: How can you charge more than the event brings in for LE alone? Maybe we’ll just hire cops and not have any potties? For that matter, maybe the cops will let us s**t in their armored Chevy Suburban cruisers out on Roach Lake? Dunno. We’re pretty sure that we will prevail in this effort, and it’s a very challenging and productive time right now and a lot of work is going on behind the scenes on many levels to make the May event happen. This letter is keeping you all in the loop. This letter is pulling back that curtain. Many of you just want to come to the event, set up and have fun, and we love that and we love you, but many of you also want to know what’s going on behind the scenes too. Many of you find this process fascinating, you nerds.
That’s what this letter is about.

What does this situation mean? Is Dark Skies – The Singularity Event getting canceled? Moved? Turned into a Pentecostal Snake show? Are we going full on commercial and hiring the Chilly Peppers to pay for the cops? NO WAY! That will never happen. The May event is ON and we’re doing it on Roach Lake, May 17-20, just like we always have. What this means quite frankly is that we have to jump through yet more hoops in order to use the land that we own and pay for, from the Bureaucracy that we pay for too. We know our rights, we have the facts, and we have YOUR support in producing one of the best events on the west coast. And that feels pretty damn good guys. We also have some of Burningman’s resources now being brought to bear on this situation as well and we are extremely grateful for that. Additional resources are coming on line even as we speak. The reason is, that we are ethical and responsible; the facts are that we are in the right, and that BLM is simply wrong in trying to over regulate us and regulate us out of existence. BLM’s Cost Recovery Estimate is simply in error.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
What do we need from you guys now? What can you do to help? Well for starters, we are NOT going to start a letter writing campaign. And, we are not going start calling BLM and whining about this situation. Also, no picket lines or clown, bunny, or santa rampages at their offices either; it will do no good at this point, trust us. We need to work collectively as a group within the letter of the law and BLM’s regulations to find a solution to this problem. This is not the time for emotions, this is the time for clear rational action and we are about to do just that. Again, we’re not asking you to DO anything at this point except buy tickets; we just really want everyone reading this to more fully understand what goes into events of this type. One can only imagine the pain the Burningman has gone through in figuring this out over the past 15 years. Anyone who thinks this is easy should give it a try sometime. G’head, we dare you.

THE APPEALS PROCESS
Want some more info? Ok then, in the spirit of both community and true open source here is the basis for our complaint and for what will become the appeal should that unfortunate action become necessary. And we really hope it can be avoided at our meeting in two days. This is our rationale for appealing fees in excess of the event’s total budget. We allege the following:

1.	That BLM is over charging us for Law Enforcement for our event far in excess of that called for in other events of this type. BLM standards for ‘all ages family events’ are one law enforcement officer per 1000 participants. Our current ratio is 1/90. (see #7 below)
2.	That a history of abuse, bias, and discrimination exists and that our event is being treated differently than any other events of this type. This affects us adversely and therefore a stay should be granted to allow the permitting to proceed.
3.	That arbitrary and capricious standard’s are being applied to us on many levels.
4.	That we have a history of just one stipulation violation in four previous events on the same site, which was minor and promptly corrected. (fireworks)Therefore there is no reason to have three observers as part of our cost recovery estimate or stipulations. (see #7 below)
5.	That though we have complained in writing to BLM about abuse and dereliction of duties by LE on two different occasions, those complaints went unanswered and ignored and instead we find ourselves in the current situation.
6.	That BLM is attempting to charge us an amount, greater than the total gross budget of our event. This precludes the event from ever happening. This not only violates our civil rights, but that it negates BLM’s mandate to preserve our public lands for public use. In short, we believe BLM is attempting to regulate us out of existence and exclude us while allowing other events of this type to occur. This affects us adversely and therefore a stay should be granted to allow the permitting to proceed.
7.	That in our four events held on this site, and contrary to BLM’s own internal regulations, no After Action Reports have been filed for any of our events, and that therefore, this shows neither precedent nor reason for our user fees being increased for event number 5 by a factor of over 1600%. This affects us adversely and therefore a stay should be granted to allow the permitting to proceed.
8.	That the Closure area that BLM is requiring us to adhere to is 350 times larger than Burningman’s per capita. This huge closure area is completely unworkable for an event of this size. We wish to be held to the same standard as Burningman in this regard. Precedent has been set for these types of events. This affects us adversely and therefore a stay should be granted to allow the permitting to proceed.

As you can see, we’ve done quite a bit of work on this matter and we’re fairly confidant that we will prevail once the facts supporting these claims have been presented, and rest assured that we do have the documentation to back this stuff up. If any of YOU have anything to add to this please contact us OFF LIST and get involved. This is going out to too many lists (worldwide) to have public dialogs on all of them, though we would happy to discuss it on the main DS/Sing list which is here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DARKSKIES_LASVEGAS/
And remember that BLM and LE is already on most of our lists anyway in case you hadn’t guessed. (Hi guys)
We’re not looking for emotional or hostile responses. This is not ‘fight the man’ time, but your ideas are certainly welcome and encouraged. What are we missing here?

That’s pretty much it. Fun reading huh?

GOOD NEWS
Now for some good news! We have over a dozen theme camps signed on. We have a truck load of art on the way from LA and we’re going to have a massive art gallery in center camp, (whoo hoo!). We also have major pyro and fire art coming in from all over the west coast, and tickets sold in 8 states so far. YOUR SUPPORT is the key to making this all happen. Thank you all! To be quite honest, what we need is to sell tickets and we have been selling pretty well so far so thank you for that too. The current count is somewhere around 180 tickets sold in advance, which puts us farther ahead than any other event we’ve done and well on the way to reaching our cap, which will be somewhere around 600 or 700 people.
Please visit our website at
http://darkskies.vegasartists.com/index.php
to learn more about Dark Skies – The Singularity Event and to sign up to help out on site. Volunteers are the key to making this work so please get involved.

Thank you again for your continued support of YOUR southwest regional burn. Thank you for buying tickets. Thank you for helping. And thank you for daring to dream big with us and make this happen, in this wonderful venue, and on this level of both complexity and content. With your love and support, this is going to completely and totally rock. Because as we’ve always said since May of ‘05: ‘we just found the site, it is YOU who make the event so special’.
And you do.

Much dusty love,
The Singularity Core

Greetings from the Singularity Core!

We are pleased to announce that the first tier discount tickets to Dark Skies – The Singularity Event have almost sold out and that these ticket go off sale in about 24 hours at midnight on January 16 either way. Thank you all who have purchased these discounted tickets and thank you all as well who have waited to purchase the $50 tickets. Every $50 ticket we sell from here on out offsets the $40 tickets we’ve already sold. So thank you all!

Recent developments: During the past two weeks we already have 5 theme camps and several artists registered for Dark Skies – The Singularity Event.
Nightmare Nevada (who created the demon Zamuel from 10/06) have agreed to do one of the icons and they are also planning on doing a full on theme camp this time! This event is already shaping up to be one of the premier events on the west coast for 2007 and we are predicting that we will hit our attendance cap of 700 humans. This event WILL sell out, so buy your tickets now if your really plan on attending. FIRE PERFORMERS: We will again be approved by CCFD for fire spinners and performers, and we are working on the compressed gasses permits as well so please come!

Dark Skies – The Singularity Event is the Burningman regional for southern Nevada. This is YOUR South West Regional Burn. It is a leave no trace event and all of Burningman’s 10 principals apply. Children 12 and under are in for free and there is no in-out except for special cases and working artists. No vending, this is a gift economy.

Please visit our website http://darkskies.vegasartists.com for more information and tickets.

Thank you all again and we are looking forward to seeing all of you in May if not before at one of your awesome events! It just keeps getting better and better.

DARK SKIES - THE SINGULARITY EVENT: TICKETS ON SALE

Greetings from The Singularity Core…

We are very excited to announce that tickets to Dark Skies – The Singularity Event, have now gone on sale, and our web site is live and ready for action. Which means theme camps and artists can now register online.

D.S./Singularity is YOUR South West regional event! And, it represents a major step forward in the regional network as a whole.

Dark Skies – ‘The Singularity Event’ will be held May 17-20, 2007 on Roach Lake. As always, this is a leave no trace event, there are no in-out privileges and there is no vending of any kind, except for ice sales. There are no pets allowed, and kids under 18 must be with parents or responsible adults. This is our 5th event on the beautiful Roach Lake playa south of Las Vegas and the second joint regional event held on the site.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT THIS TIME?
We’re glad you asked!
For starters, we are allowing kids 12 and under in for free this time! (With parents of course) We hope this encourages more families to attend this event and it is something that many of you have asked for, so there you go. Come on out and play with us mom & dad!

Second, the ticket price structure is as follows:
We are doing an ‘early bird special’ from NOW until Jan 16 for $40. It is hoped that these discounted tickets will encourage those of you with limited incomes to attend DS-Singularity and this is something that you asked for too. Those of you who can afford the higher tier tickets please buy those okay?

There are 100 of these discounted tickets available, so when they’re gone they are gone.

NOW until Jan 16 or until the first 100 are gone: $40
Jan 17 – April 1: $50
April 2nd – May 16: $75
At the gate: $100

Though the event permit ends on Sunday, we encourage you to camp with us on Sunday night. Stay and help clean up on your public land and, the decompression starts promptly at sundown. (It’s Vegas baby, we move fast around here!)

WE NEED YOUR HELP.
The heart of any event of this type is our wonderful volunteers. We need gate captains, earth guardians, and perimeter and security staff. We are also looking for someone with a box blade grader to help improve the road’s into the site. We need volunteers of all types and skills! Merely purchasing a ticket to this event does not constitute participation. Participation means getting involved. The way to get involved is to volunteer and help the event run smoothly. PLEASE GET INVOLVED, WE NEED YOU ALL. This is YOUR event, this is not a spectator event and it only works if we all help.

LATEST NEWS:
BLM has approved Dark Skies – The Singularity Event! We are a firm go and the site is locked for that weekend in May. We will be working with a ‘Hard Closure’ of the site again and we are currently talking to BLM about the exact dimensions and boundaries of that closure. We are much further ahead in the planning process than in any of the previous 4 events held on the site. This does not mean we are out of the woods, it means we’re simply getting better at this as we move along. And that is in no small part due to YOUR SUPPORT. When we say ‘This is your Regional Event’ that is not some catch phrase, we really mean it. We could not be doing this without your help. Thank you all!

Please visit the Dark Skies – The Singularity Event website here http://darkskies.vegasartists.com where you can find art and theme camp registration, tickets, volunteer opportunities, and other vital information. Many thanks and major props go out to ‘School Girl’ Randy Winsett for his hard work in making this site rock!

See you guys in May and thank you all so, so much!
BOOM
The DS/Sing ‘Core’.

Gigsville people in Venice Carnevale?

Hi Gigsvillagers --

I wanted to get in touch with you all to extend an invitation to participate in the Venice Carnevale this year, if you'd like. We have a huge city block reserved for arts installations, theme camps, and other burner style decorations. The arts zone also hosts the DJ and dancing area. It's a fun free artistic event, where we can mix with the Venice beach public for a day. The event is inspired by Venice Italy's masked festival, and coincides this year with Halloween, and we have more political and commercial support than ever. It's October 28th, from noon to 10pm, with an after party.

Let me know if you would like to participate. And please spread the word, and tell anyone who might want to get involved.

Cheers --

Romell I just wanted to say thank you for being you. I only got to visit you once in Gigsville albeit I went another night and you weren't there, the evening I spent with you and a few friends under the tent was cathartic and set me free. I needed your friendship and you were there for me offering refuge from an emotional situation that I wanted to keep to myself. After I left I felt that I had a place to turn to always and this helped me be stronger and deal with my situation. You helped me find the courage I was lacking without handing it to me directly. Thank you for making my burn healthier and keeping my feet on the ground.

Share an RV to Burning Man from LA

I've reserved a RV for myself and companion. Sleeps 7 (it's a large one), looking for 2 to 3 more people for a total of 4 or 5 people. Leaving LA 8/26 returning 9/5.

$600 per person. No smoking in RV, no pets. Perfer people interested in partying on the Playa, not in the RV. Want to use the RV for cooking meals and sleeping only...

Helpful if you know me or somebody I know. (I did lots of Cacophony stuff and of course the Santa Con in the past, so you may know me from there.) Leaving from the Silverlake area.

"Hope and Fear" and The web of dreams

Sacred geometry, universal energy, IBVA experiments linked with real time video, the opportunity to study yourself and others in a lucid REM state with state of the art equipment, recorded experiences, thousands of lights, music and more create “The Web Of Dreams”! An Interactive art piece symbolizing the connection of all things and how what you choose affects everything. It is designed to generate life-changing breakthroughs!
Allow yourself while in the Web to work through your fear and be inspired to make new empowering choices that create more hope for your future! Those who choose to be wrapped and suspended in the Web may discover that resistance creates the persistence of fear but acceptance allows for the disappearance of fear. Shed your fixed beliefs and ways of being while inside the Web and step into a new world of increased hope and possibility!
The web will offer up personal truths, it will offer up hope and dreams, it will offer a true reflection of how what you choose (hope or fear) affects the outcome of your future in a clear representation in the present moment.
“The Web of Dreams” will be placed 1300ft from the man at 1:30. We will have 2 scheduled events on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 pm to midnight. The first, spider races, two people are attached at the torso creating one eight legged spider. They then have to work together to make it to the other side of the Web. The second event is Bumper bubbles. One of ten fans will fill your personal bubble with air and after it is sealed you will then bounce, bump and run into the other participates in their personal bubbles.
We got a late start on this idea but we know, with some help from the community, we can still pull it off (no fear only hope). We have most everything we need but if the opportunity to assist others in breaking through their fear and gaining more hope and possibility inspires you we invite you to become a part of the “Web Team” and help in anyway you can. We are looking for people to fill volunteer shifts, donate money (we still need over $1,000) or any supplies we still need please contact me on Tribe or directly:
CLAYTON AND TERRY ALLRED
801-523-7094
For more info on the “Web Of Dreams” or to donate few dollars today(every little bit will help)by Pay Pal check out the web site at: http://webofdreams.home.comcast.net/
I truly look forward to the most amazing experience on the Playa with you and may all of your fears serve you in the end to achieve all your hopes!
Love,
Clayton

Gadget and Kinchasa - an EARLY PARTY FOR TWO CAUSES: HOB Sat April 22@ 4pm - Collage party fundraiser for Billie

Hey Gigsville, come collage some stuff for Burningman gifts, and help our doggie all at the same time!
(we are posting this to a few sites)

A PARTY FOR TWO CAUSES:

A CHANCE TO BE ARTISTIC AND DO "GOOD" AT THE SAME TIME:

If you've ever been to the House of Bliss, you know I am a "crazy old newspaper lady" in training:

I have GOBS of subscription magazines (and what seems to be a true psychological inability to throw them away unless someone uses them) and Gadget's about to disown me as he can't get through the house any longer,

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, our 12 year old poopy Billie (a fixture at every HOB warehouse party) well, she's got a BIG chest tumor, and she has a THOUSAND dollar surgery and ten day recuperation coming up in May,

SO:

We're having a "COME HANG OUT, BE CREATIVE , AND COLLAGE" party...Saturday April 22 beginning at 4pm at Bliss Studios, located at the HOB warehouse, 6178 W JEFFERSON BLVD LOS ANGELES CA 90016 (MAPQUEST, or Yahoo maps will get you here). Enter the long hallway to the studio under the yellow paint peeling alcove... it will be gorgeous and bright at 4pm. We have good music, magazines, scissors, glue and cardboard, some wine and beer and sodas. If you wish to collage something else, please bring it.

We at the HOB have never charged a fee for any of our parties, so there is no "fee" to play, but if you know and love Billie and want to help out, there will be a donation bucket. Anything you can offer would be so appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to her surgery. So, come say hi to Billie before her surgery, and let's get RID of my CRAZY OLD LADY FUTURE by turning my magazines into a FUN, CREATIVE way for you to make something and take something home with you that will INSPIRE you! If you don't collage but wish to come on by, please do! The more the merrier! And when we're finished I PROMISE to throw the rest of the magazines AWAY!

If you want to see Billie's HUGE tumor I will be putting her photo on my pictures... (poor baby, the vet told us all along "it was just fat", which it is, but it's a fat TUMOR that has grown so large that it impedes her ability to walk...).

kisses to all, AND FEEL FREE TO INVITE YOUR CREATIVE FRIENDS!
kimmie (kinchasa)

The second official SINGULARITY announcement

THE SINGULARITY ARTS FESTIVAL
MAY 11-14TH,Thursday thru Sunday, 2006

Salutations from the SINGULARITY ARTS FESTIVAL Event Team!

Here is the second official announcement!
Included are some details you need to know in order to participate to your fullest potential!

In this blast, we'll go over the who, what, where, why and how.

Who?
Las Vegas and Los Angeles Regional Burning Man communities are coming together to create a larger event that together we can take higher and build stronger. We are very excited about this opportunity and venture.

What?
The concept is simple. We will provide a well-supported empty space for you to come, express, experience and create. This event exists SOLEY ON YOUR PARTICIPATION. That means - WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER, AS WELL AS ALL OF OUR ART!

Where?
Roach Lake, Nevada.
(Southwest of Las Vegas, about a three hour drive from L.A., just across the California/Nevada state line )
Buy your tickets now! http://singularity.inticketing.com

Why?
It is time for local Burning Man regions to reach out to one
another. It is time to work together beyond our disparate regions and unite, expand, and gain strength. We want to stretch beyond our borders and integrate ourselves in the name of Art, Creation, and Community. This event is NOT about Las Vegas or Los Angeles. It is about community. It is about YOU! We look forward to seeing people from all regions taking part in Singularity. Tickets have already been purchased by participants in 8 states!

We are reaching out, and inviting diverse communities, not only burning communities, to join us. Expect large-scale pyro
installations. In addition to the many styles of music that can be found at Burning Man, the Las Vegas Jam Band Society will create a theme camp to host live bands. Each community will add to the overall experience of this event. The significance lies NOT in the similarities, but rather in the diversities.

How?
It starts by purchasing a presale ticket now. There are only a finite number of tickets available. This event will be limited to 1,000 attendees, maximum. This is part of our permit, and is a fixed number in accordance with an agreement with the BLM. When the tickets are gone, the event will be sold out. All participants, planners, & performers are buying a ticket. Every single one of us is paying, every single one of us is participating.

Here are 7 critical areas you can participate in at Singularity:

1- A CALL FOR ART
2- REGISTER YOUR THEME CAMP
3- A CALL FOR MUSICIANS AND PERFORMERS
4- VOLUNTEERS
5- FIRE SPINNING AND LARGE SCALE PYRO
6- LEAVE NO TRACE
7- TICKETING

1- A CALL FOR ART:
CONTACT: art@thesingularityevent.com
Do you remember the first time you saw a work of art that moved you in a powerful way? When you stood there in awe, and experienced it, remember how you felt your emotions wash over you? It felt good to be alive. Well, YOU are that artist now! So do the work, and BRING YOUR ART OUT TO THIS EVENT! People are coming from all over the country
to be touched and moved by your creation. Sculptures, paintings, and fourth dimensional constructs, anything that is your art. It is worthy. It is special. It is worth bringing out. You never know who your art will touch and inspire.

2- REGISTER YOUR THEME CAMP:
CONTACT: http://thesingularityevent.com/themecamps
THIS EVENT IS ALL ABOUT THE THEME CAMP.
The main organizational structure at Singularity is the Theme Camp Experience the joy of a large community made up of smaller communities. Wake up to the laughter of your friends. Get more quality time in with 20 of your friends this weekend than you will in 6 months of city living. REGISTER YOUR THEME CAMP NOW!

-ONLY REGISTERED THEME CAMPS CAN BRING AMPLIFIED MUSIC.
-REGISTERED THEME CAMPS GET PREMIUM PLACEMENT IN THE CITY.
-REGISTERED SITES WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE.
-REGISTERED THEME CAMPS ALLOW US TO "CLUSTER" GROUPS THAT SUPPORT EACH OTHER, AND ADD TO THE ENJOYMENT OF YOUR THEME CAMP.
-ALL NON-REGISTERED THEME CAMPS WILL BE PLACED WITHIN 10 FEET OF PORTA POTTIES AS A LESSON FOR YOU TO REGISTER NEXT TIME!
-(Just kidding on the last one, but come on! register!)

3. A CALL FOR MUSICIANS AND PERFORMERS:
CONTACT: performance@thesingularityevent.com
Are you a fire spinner, hooper, performance troupe, drummer, band, dj, hawaiian nose hummer, Gregorian chanter? Do you play the Butt Flute? YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO SHARE YOUR MUSIC WITH EACH OTHER.

There are several ways to perform at the event. The first way is to host your own theme camp. Or, you can contact us, and we'll connect you with theme camps that are hosting performance areas, where you can perform as their guest. There will be a small performance area at center camp for eclectic performers, spoken word, and fire troupes
that perform to a CD.

Theme camps with music should have works of art, decoration, and places to hang out. Do not just bring a stack of speakers and call yourself a theme camp. If you are doing a performance area, we want you to bring lights, decoration, and seating. Create your area.

* A few rules on sound: theme camps with music will be asked to give 3 one hour time slots each day to guest performers. This should increase the number of people dancing in your area. Plus, it's fun to meet new people (and maybe meet your next and finest new Lover!),
and creates a generous environment for performers traveling from far away.
* A note on volume. If it’s after 3 am at night, go to half volume.
* Be respectful of your neighbors.

4. VOLUNTEERS:
CONTACT: http://www.thesingularityevent.com or email directly the department you want to help.
Information available on the website.
There's a lot of juice in volunteering. Each area needs helpers. Contact us now so we can get you in the loop.

5-FIRE SPINNING AND LARGE SCALE PYRO:
CONTACT: fire@thesingularityevent.com
We are encouraging all large-scale fire sculptures and fire
performers to attend. Please contact us so we can explain how fire safety, equipment checks, and registration will work. You must contact us before the event if you want to bring fire gear of any kind.

6-LEAVE NO TRACE:
CONTACT: your own trash bag !!
Only with your help and dedication can we use this land again. By policing your own trash, and that of your camp mates, we will all be able to enjoy this event next year. This IS a LEAVE NO TRACE event!

Here is some info from the Burning Man website regarding Leave No Trace principles:
http://tinyurl.com/qyvac

And more Leave No Trace from the BLM website:
http://www.blm.gov/education/lnt/

7-TICKETING:
CONTACT: http://singularity.inticketing.com
We are allowed a maximum of 1,000 tickets:
* The first 300 tickets will be sold for $50 or until April 1st
(whichever comes first).
* The second 300 tickets will be sold for $75 or until May 1st.

Oh Hunter! We knew you too well, yet not well enough.

We knew the gears in your mind, but not those in your heart. Unless your heart and your mind were in lock-step, which, on further reflection, was probably the case.

Hunter! The United States of America Misses You! You left too soon and in the middle of a furious war.

Our own Vice President has shot a friend in the face.

We have Fallen So Far. It's funny "Boo hoo" not funny "Ha ha" at this point. The possibilty of our doom is just a fantasy. Certainty has set in. It's awful. I am almost glad you did not live to see this, even as much as I miss you.

On Saturday, February 25th, we should gather together in Style and Manner. The details are not clear yet, but I miss you too much to let the anniversary of your sharp absence slip past without so much as a shot of Wild Turkey down my throat. It's just not possible. We must gather and call your spirit down. We must rise and see your spirit up.

Presenting "Burncast"

Burncast is now available online. What's a "burncast"? Well, it's the name of a podcast program that's all about Burning Man!

In the aftermath of our mission to educate people about the media at Burning Man, members of the Black Rock City Community Collective felt that they could a better job of reporting on the event. So they did.

Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of SaveBRC.org <http://www.savebrc.org> comes Burncast, produced by participants for participants about the art, culture, and community (drink!) surrounding Burning Man.

We begin by talking to the people behind the curtain. This is a first in a series of interviews with members of the Burning Man organization.

---------------------------

Burncast #1 - Interview with Andie Grace
http://nospectators.com/index.php?page=burncast

In our premiere burncast, we talk to Andie Grace aka "ActionGrl", the Director of Communications for Burning Man. She'll explain the policies and procedures in place for media participation at Burning Man, discuss the effects of media presence within the community, as well as participant's rights to privacy and the concept of "media free zones". She'll also explain the background and development of the 10 principles with emphasis on principle #3 "Decommodification."

---------------------------

Burncast is brought to you by members of Black Rock City Community Collective and is completely underwritten by participants like you. We want to give you a voice, we want to hear your story, and we invite you to share your experience. We hope you enjoy this first show. Also we'd love to hear what you think, as well as your ideas for future episodes.

I am the proud owner of a 12 foot long, 3 inch diameter 99.9% pure Magnesium pole. (I also have 8 pieces that are one foot long, and some random end pieces at least 1lb each.

Anyone want to work with me to design something out of it to burn? My tests show that the oxy&Mapp gas torch is the hottest that I can get my hands on, and lights small 1 inch thick pieces pretty easily. (as compared to a simple propane torch or a simple mapp torch.)

Twiggsville made for one of the best new year's experiences I've ever had! Thanks for all the beautiful people, warm energy, and good vibe -you're the best. I love you all and miss ya already.

To anyone who caught my DJ set Sunday night/Monday morning and liked it and are into that sort of thing and in the LA area, I told a couple people I'd post this party info here -it should be pretty brain-melty good. I played several tracks from the Lawgiverz in that set. I have nothing to do with this event beyond the inherent knowledge of its potential and sadly will not be there -but they're playing again the following week here in SF- so this is merely pimping for your benefit :)

Experience *TRIGGER*; Fri, Jan 6, Los Angeles
===== Friday, January 6, 2005 =====

HUMAN HOLOGRAM INTERFERENCE PROJECT
The brain creates this experience some call reality in a way not too dissimilar to how a hologram works. Our mission is to awaken the human consciousness through low frequencies with advanced computer programming and intuitive musical arrangements, allowing you to connect to a bigger awareness of ones self. The way Electro Breakbeat music uses electronic sounds and the way breakbeats or just breaks are programmed and played, truly has the ability through its rhythmic tribal/shamanic nature to connect the soul to the overmind (or godhead) or your inter dimensional time travelling self.

Trigger Records, RootaBreaka, Mobius Audiophile, and Desiree are proud to present the very first U.S. Trigger All-Nighter. Join us, Friday January 6th, for a truly special experience as we reconstruct our holographic reality with low-frequency soundwaves and ultra-freaky electro beats.

All the way from the UK Representing the Trigger Holographic Bassforms Project:

LAWGIVERZ
Lawgiverz a.k.a. R-Kidz and Noize have been dropping audio bombs for the last five years on Botchit & Scarper, Trigger Recordings and more. Lawgiverz have produced, programmed and remixed with a bizarre selection of artists such as Jeff Beck, Dave Stewart and The Human League. They would like you to know that none of this really matters. Just that if you find yourself in front of the Trigger sound system during their laptop and turntable set, prepare to be destroyed with a helping of alien love in the Electrobreaks style. Their live show incorporates multiple decks, CDJ’s and a laptop and the pair mix, scratch and basically remix every track they drop!

KOSMIKNEIL
Kosmikneils relationship with sound systems started with the free festival scene of the 80’s/90’s. This set the blueprint for Trigger, the club night Neil started in 1994, which has gained worldwide recognition. Neil’s dedication and passion for the sound that moves him is notorious and has seen him get bookings all over the UK and USA. As well as being resident DJ at Trigger and DJ’ing all over the world, he has twice attended the Miami Winter Music Conference with the Fuel Records crew and the infamous Fuel sound system cars, and toured the States alongside Tipper. In 2003 Neil formed Trigger Recordings to allow a greater audience to be part of the project, beginning with the renowned ‘Holographic Bassforms’ CD and now approaching its 6th vinyl release.

I am cross posting a post from a dear friend of mine because this DOES involves ME as well as him (you will see my name mentioned) and he worded it best so I thought I would just re-post what he had posted on another tribe and spread the word, with his permission of course! PLEASE READ

Big Mike Wrote in RWB Tribe:
It's starting. For the last few days, LilShadow, Special K, and I have used a protest photo of my hand on our profiles titled, "Flag This!". This morning, both LilShadow and I had our main photos reassigned without permission, explanation, or consideration. We've reset them back to our protests.

I don't know how my hand could be considered obscene or pornographic, since there is neither images of genitals nor use of obscene language. But I do feel tread upon by having my expression limited because they aren't comfortable with the message.

TRIBE SAYS OUR DANCE PHOTO ALBUM IS OFFENSIVE

TRIBE SAYS OUR DANCE PHOTO ALBUM IS OFFENSIVE and that we must be classified as a mature tribe or remove the offensive photos. Take a look and tell me if this is not the most ridiculous thing you have heard.

http://scdc.tribe.net/

Question: Why is Tribe's management denying us our freedom of speech and expression instead of defending it in court? I know that we, as a community, would support the defense of our civil rights. I would donate $50 on the spot!

Sea of Dreams LA - New Years

ANON SALON’s SEA OF DREAMS “CIRK-O-SIX”

New Years Eve, Downtown LA
This New Year's Eve, San Francisco and LA based event promoters, ANON SALON are expanding on the long running success of their legendary SEA OF DREAMS New Year's Eve spectacle by raising the bar with this year’s CIRK-O-SIX, to be held at the historic Los Angeles Theater. This year’s burlesque theme combines the party with ongoing theater performances in the famed downtown theatre.

The Los Angeles Theatre was once considered one of the four or five finest theatres in the world and the event will raise the flag of the new Renaissance of downtown Los Angeles and call upon the Golden Era of LA’s Downtown Theatre District where vaudeville and burlesque used to fill its resplendent theatre houses. Anon Salon will bring the history alive with today’s most cutting edge, avant garde performance and burlesque troupes performing in this breathtaking theater with a surrounding labyrinth of party rooms containing Anon’s live and DJ musical favorites.

The theatre built in 1931 in the French baroque style of Louis XIV, was a virtual Hollywood cathedral. Famous for its huge crystal fountain in the lobby, not an inch of the interior was left undecorated from the elegant stage curtains and ornate balcony to the intricately-carved ceiling of its lobby. When the Los Angeles Theatre was about to go under during the Depression, Charlie Chaplin paid an exorbitant amount of money to keep the posh 1,967-seat theater afloat, so that he could have the grand premiere of his masterpiece "City Lights" there. When downtown LA was abandoned for other new neighborhoods and nightlife, the Los Angeles Theatre closed and had been sitting idle, except for occasional film shoots.

Cirk-O-Six will then merge this experience with its audience base of costumed revelers to create a unique and participatory evening of entertainment.

Additionally, there is a full art gallery space attached to one of the downstairs ballrooms that will house a large art exhibit of cirque and burlesque themed works curated by Mike Russek, co-founder of Transport Art Gallery and founder of the Six Degrees Art Festival.

Lighting and an interactive environment will also be created by Los Angeles event and décor wizards, The Do Labs.

PERFORMERS

On the theatre stage:

The Buxoticas of Lucha Va Voom
Buxom * Exotica * Buxotica
Lucha Va Voom is the hot new ticket from LA, combining burlesque, comedy and costumed classic “super hero” Mexican wrestlers. Lucha Va Voom has toured the country recently selling out 2 nights at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles and invited to perform at the annual Comedy Festival in Las Vegas this year.

Lucent Dossier
Exo- glAmour Shenanigans
Full production over the edge performance art troupe specializing in vaudeville and circus shenanigans with visionary costuming and unique choreography and mesmerizing dance.

Cirque Berzerk
Cirkus for the MisLed
Cirque Berzerk has recently been producing the dinner/cirque experience combining their cirque performances with a 4 course dinner at Abundant Sugar in the Brewery Art Complex. They also produced several events and hosted their large circus event at Burning Man 2005 under a 90 ft circus tent. Performers from Cirque du Soleil join their ranks.

Skin
Aerial performance combining multi media with live/electronica.

March Forth
High-energy, eclectic and mobile unit of good times, taking a Fellini-esque mix of Mardi Gras mayhem, afro beat, Mexican hustle, sultry samba, big band accompanied by their surrealist troupe of stilt-dancers and costumed beauties, they are the new love-party paradigm.

Live music from
Rosin Coven (Music from the Pagan Lounge, Burning Man)
Gooferman (KloWNifIED Chop-Hop)
HISTORY OF ANON SALON

ANON SALON, over the course of its 15-year existence, has helped redefine West Coast event production by producing hundreds of unique theme parties, theater festivals, art shows and even street fairs for Burning Man fans in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. The company was born out of San Francisco’s alternative art and performance scene of the 1980’s. From the beginning, they helped shape an ever-growing community of multi-media artists and event producers into a network of non-commercial, unadvertised one-off events and large public gatherings. Unlike conventional concert, club or theatrical events, these one-off gatherings were specialized one-of-a-kind theme party/events. Production laden and technologically cutting edge, they included not only music, but also performance artists, installation, lighting and video artists, theatrics and unique décor, that quickly began to attract an audience that brought their own ideas to the mix. The evolution of their party spectacles has always reflected the changing face of the creative community. As their website asserts, "ANON SALON teases technology, embraces the arts, and flirts with the unknown. … It celebrates all that's eclectic and electric in art, design, and media providing a place to grab new ideas before business as usual turns them into formulas.
Anon founders, JOEGH BULLOCK and MARCIA CROSBY have been central to San Francisco's alternative and underground art scene since the late 1970's. Besides ANON SALON, their endeavors include the GlasHaus parties of the mid-1980's, Icon Byte Bar and Grill (the first Internet bar and cafe in SF), the award-winning Climate Theater, the world famous Solo Mio performance festival. More recently, Joegh has co-created and co-produced San Francisco-based Burning Man Festival parties such as Flambé Lounge and the Decompression Heat the Street Faire.

In the early 1990's, they joined forces with then actor/director MARK PETRAKIS, known as “Spoonman” (from his popular alternative vaudeville revues called “COBRA LOUNGE”). An early web developer, already a part of the burgeoning technology scene, Petrakis was also responsible for Telecircus.com, a 1994 San Francisco arts community website that provided the first web presence for Burning Man, the Residents, Clubfoot Orchestra and many others.

Artist, event producer and social provocateur, MARK BAVA from the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Area entered the mix further bringing together audiences from communities from Humboldt to San Diego. Bava is also one of the founders of the LA Burning Man LaDecom Street Fair, Oracle Milleneum and the Blue Bongo nightclub in the Artist District of Downtown Los Angeles.

LA partner and co-producer, Stephen Samojeden is an east coast transplant who got his start in event productions in Colorado in the early Nineties. Working with friends he helped create Sol Productions, which grew to be one of the largest event production companies in the state. More recently he has helped create dozens of alternative art events in the Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles areas, including the yearly Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression Street Fairs.

Since its debut on NYE 2000, their SEA OF DREAMS event has been known as the must-see sleeper event for the in-the-know “cultural creatives”, attracting over 3,000 attendees each year to the sold out San Francisco events and last year’s LA event.

This New Year’s Eve, the ANON team will once again combine their talents and experience in the raising of Cirk-O-Six.

A raging bonfire sure would be nice to chase away the cold and gloom of what could be the harshest winter that Los Angeles has seen in nearly a year.

Presenting "The Twelve Burning Men of Christmas" a execution of flammable artwork by K'Buster Friendly. Guaranteed to add some color and cheer to your life for at least 15 minutes, the Christmas tree-like sculpture will be set on fire at 8:00 on Sunday night, December 11th, at Dockweiller State Beach.

The LA Burner Community Non-Denominational Christmas-Related Burning Burner Burn, (LABCNCRBBB), will also feature:

-Non-denominational politically-correct 'Winter Occasion' carols.
-Stonehaven Fireballs courtesy of Burn LA
-Absolutely wicked jingles by world famous DJ 2DantzAreaz

Parking costs $5. While Santas are encouraged to attend, there are no discounts for coming in costume. The beach and parking lot officially close at 10 p.m., though during winter months this is informally extended. There is street parking on PCH and foot access to the beach, but legal parking ends at 10p.m. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on this State Beach.

Bring FIREWOOD, something (or someone) to sit on, smore fixins, and your various LA Burner Community (LABC) related accessories. Those who drum and those who spin fire are invited to bring their gear. Tipping your local flammable art perpetrators is encouraged!

Please mark your calenders and post any questions that you may have about the beach burn here.

I just have to thank gigsville for the awesome pie in the sky this year. Many a dilerious night my campmates and I would not have been able to find our camp if it weren't for your great contribution. I might have dehydrated or starved or collapsed in some strange corner of the playa, so thank you so much for that friendly face to come home to. I heard about the tragic loss the first day when setting up and I am so very sorry. He was still plenty tall and plenty fantastic to me and my campmates. Thanks again!
