This year will be the best EVER. If you're not also on the Gigsville lists, you may want to get on them... lots of stuff going on, people building, plans hatching, stuff like that...

Recently, we migrated most of our lists away from Topica. If you've been a member of Gigsville in the past, you know why we migrated! If you're new to Gigsville, this handy page will help you navigate the most active lists.
All of our new group subscriptions allow you to get mailing list mail through your normal mail program, or read it on the web. You can also use their interface to remove yourself from the list, or to switch to and from 'digest' mode (all messages from the day are gathered up and sent to you as one big message at the end of the day). When you subscribe to digest, it's REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TRIM YOUR POSTS WHEN YOU REPLY. Otherwise, people are going to roll their eyes at every single one of your responses. It's a total drag and results in almost a complete loss of credibility. Just ask MattShaw.

Oftentimes, our Gigsville lists are too chatty or cover too much of the chaff of the wheat. If you want to know only about the highest level things, join the announce list. However! Be aware that many people have forgotten that the Announce list exists. If you find that nothing seems to be happening, it’s probably because we’ve forgotten to post it.

Then, on the other hand, you may want to know everything from funny forwards to political links to philosophical polls on whether Foghat really was better that Cheap Trick.

Please do not join only these lists and expect to feel welcomed as part of the community. To be a member of the community, you should also come out to workshops, camping trips, dinners, etc. Just showing up for the event isn’t enough.

It's constantly being updated, so check back and re-read often. Wouldn't it be awful to inadvertently break one of the rules and be hated forever?
